Hello everyone I know and love!
I hope you are all doing AMAZING. I am currently wrapping up my 6th week of ministry at Bella Goose in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Over the last couple of weeks we have continued teaching courses to 3 wonderful women. This week I have had the opportunity to teach the women about resumes, and helping them to create their own resumes. It is such a fulfilling opportunity to get to help people create something that can have a profound impact on their futures. I have loved our time with this ministry, and I am going to be so sad to leave all the amazing people that we have gotten to love and grow with here.
Now let me tell you about what the Lord has been teaching me… YAY!!!! As the weeks have gone on, as you may have anticipated I have faced some challenges, both as a person and as a team leader. The Lord is growing me and teaching me so much more than I would have ever guessed. One huge thing that we are working through together right now is operating in His strength. A sweet friend pointed me in the direction of 1 Chronicles 29:11, which says “Yours, Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on the earth belongs to you.” This verse came in a time where I was completely at the end of myself, I felt I had no more energy, strength, endurance, or honestly motivation to move forward. But luckily God intervened and reminded me that I don’t have to have those things, because He has them plus SO much more. In these past couple of weeks I have been learning to lean on God’s strength, and learning what it means to strengthen myself in the Lord. I serve a God who is so big and so strong, He has more than enough strength to grant me some. My prayer for each and every one of you is that you would have full access to the strength of the Lord, because it is very awesome 🙂
More fun life updates and pictures!
This is me preaching my very first sermon, on you guessed it!, the strength of the Lord!
We have had the opportunity to attend a house church, which is a home for young girls. We have gotten to love on these girls and get to know them, play with them and worship with them. Serving at this home has definitely been a highlight of my time here.
Here is a picture of my team after a traditional Thai dinner that we went to. We were served traditional Thai food and got to watch a show where they did traditional Thai dances with really neat costumes and Thai music. But the highlight of the night was a 2-3 year old girl who ran out into the middle o the stage and was dancing with the performers, she gave us all a good laugh.
This is a photo of me and my teammate John playing soccer with another one of our ministry partners! I finally got to play after sitting out several weeks due to a sprained ankle.
My team got to go on another beautiful hike to the “sticky” waterfalls. We were able to walk directly up the waterfall because of the texture, which makes it “sticky.”
Prayer Requests!
- As we are continuing through this race and heading into places with different spiritual atmospheres, prayer that our team would be covered and protected from the enemy would be HUGE! I am learning so much about spiritual warfare here. Psalm 91:11 says “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” Every praying saint sends out angels of protection, those prayers would be huge for my team 🙂
- My teammate Coby is still working toward his fundraising goal. If you feel led to donate to him that would be amazing. But if you would be willing to come alongside me in prayer over Gods provision for him that would also be lovely. I’ve included his donation link below.
- Good rest and continued health for my team. A few of my teammates have really been struggling to get good sleep, please join us in praying that they would find true rest in the Lord! Our team has also fought off quite a few sicknesses already, so prayer for good health would be amazing as well.
That’s all I have for now. Thank you for checking in, thank you for praying alongside me, and thank you for being a part of what the Lord is doing in the world through this mission. You are so loved and so cherished 🙂
Prayers and blessings,
Amanda Born ❤️
