Hello friends and family! Let me tell you about the immeasurable joy that is Malaysia!

To tell you guys the truth, as we were nearing the end of our time in Thailand, I was dreading coming to Malaysia. I had heard some things about the country that made me feel anxious, and I was just convinced that I wasn’t going to like it here. But BOY was I wrong. I LOVE Malaysia! The Lord has really humbled me in the way that He has softened my eyes and my heart to this country. My heart is bursting with compassion for the people and the culture here. Over the next month my whole squad is staying together and we are working with a couple of local churches. During the week we are teaching refugees different subjects including English, math, and science. It is such a blessing to get to teach these kids, because they would not be provided a real education without the ministry that we work with. Getting to learn about the heart and the background behind ministry here has been incredible. While we are here we are also serving in the churches and working with a special needs program for young adults!

I am currently studying the book of Matthew. The verse Matthew 13:44 has been on my heart. In this parable Jesus says “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure, buried in a field, that a man found and reburied. Then in his joy he goes and sells everything he has and buys that field.” As a believer and follower of Christ, I want to be sold out for Him. I think since getting to Malaysia the Lord has really reignited a fire in me to share the incredible news, which is the gospel of Jesus. I am absolutely undone by the beautiful, life-saving things that Jesus has done in my life. And who am I to keep that treasure and that love to myself? Jesus freely lavishes His abundant love onto me each and every day. Because of that, I get to operate out of an abundance of love myself. So far in Malaysia I have loved every second of getting to pour that love out onto others. Whether that is my new students, members of our church, ministry partners, cafe workers, or Uber drivers, I just want Jesus to use me to touch them all. I have found such a beautiful treasure in Jesus, and I am learning and seeing what an incredible joy it is to share that treasure with the world 🙂

As always, here’s some picture updates!

This is the “monster bus” that we got to ride in from Bangkok to Hat Yai, which was only a 16 hour trip! Good thing my parents prepared me for this with lots of 20 hour road trips from MI to FL! (I slept almost the whole 16 hours)

Today was my friend Abby’s birthday! We had a fun birthday celebration this morning with donuts and balloons!

My team tried to fit 5 people into a 4 person Uber, so me and Sarah got to be nice and close! She loved it 🙂

This is a photo of me and Ella and Areonah on our way back from an adventure day discovering that there was a sweet little mouse friend crawling around on the floor of our van. Ella and Areonah got the pleasure of hosting him (or her) on their toes for a bit of the ride! They are so blessed 🙂

We all got to visit Penang Island on Saturday, and I got to share the gospel with some new friends on the beach! While we were there I also got to go tubing with some friends which was SO fun. AND we found an import grocery store in the mall and I got to stock up on all my favs, barbecue twisties, chicken and a biscuit crackers, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and raspberries and blueberries!

We are also in a crossover month, which means wee are serving at this ministry with other racers, K-squad! There are 14 girls on K-squad here and they are so sweet and SO on fire for the Lord. It has been such a joy to serve alongside them. This is a picture of most of us one day after ministry with our friend Jason!

Thank you all so much for your investment in me and in the ministry we are doing. I am so grateful to have such a sweet support team, thank you for all the prayers and checking in on me. I genuinely feel so loved by you all. Below I have listed some ways you can best be praying over me and my squad 🙂

  • That we would continue to press into each other and grow in deeper intimacy with our squad mates and with the Lord.
  • That we would see the Lord move in tangible ways here. My squad is currently praying into seeing miracles and more of the spiritual realm. Pray that we would see people healed and delivered!
  • Prayer for financial provision for those on my squad who are still raising support. There are a few of my friends who are still working toward their fundraising goals. If you feel led to continue to support this ministry financially that is an amazing way to do it and I would be happy to connect you with someone who is still raising support.

Thank you all for your love and prayers, I love you!

Prayers and blessings,

Amanda ❤️
